2nd edition of Youth Urban Beekeeping Club set for the summer

June 6, 2017

The Youth Urban Beekeeping Project, in collaboration with Northlands and the Edmonton Community Foundation, is an innovative program focused on raising awareness of the importance of pollinators to the environment while teaching beekeeping skills to local Edmonton youth.

Throughout the summer and fall of 2016, 24 youth met once a week and learned about hive inspections, woodworking, and honey processing, among other technical skills associated with beekeeping.

The 2017 program, which is free of charge, is set to begin late June.
