Canadian Wool Week – November 3rd to 12th

November 3, 2017

Canadian Wool Week brings together farmers, designers, producers and retailers to showcase the wonders of wool across Canada.

It is part of the Campaign for Wool, established by its patron, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, to raise consumer awareness on the unique and sustainable qualities of wool.

This year, Canadian Wool Week will be anchored by The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto. The Campaign for Wool is sponsoring all sheep related events at the fair including the sheep education centre, sheep shearing demonstrations and the sheep to shawl competition. There will also be a “Wool House” exhibit in Heritage Court that showcases the versatility of wool and highlights its unique and sustainable qualities. It will replicate a room in a house and everything from the carpet, to bedding, to lampshades will be made from the sustainable fabric. The Campaign has collaborated with the iconic Harris Tweed Authority to outfit the space.

Prince’s Charities Canada brought The Campaign for Wool to Canada in 2014 when it was launched by His Royal Highness during the royal tour that year. It has a presence in 14 countries around the world.
