POE Wraps up 2017 Boot Camp Season

September 6, 2017

Prince’s Operation Entrepreneur (POE) provides business education to transitioning Canadian Armed Forces members and veterans.  Their signature program is a seven-day entrepreneurial boot camp, often considered a “mini-mba”, that provides veterans with the skills, confidence and resources to start and run their own successful businesses.

The four yearly boot camps, held between May and August, are led by faculty at Université Laval, Dalhousie University, Memorial University and the University of Regina.  Topics covered include marketing, accounting, social media, finance and human resources.

In addition to coursework, participants attend networking events, workshops led by local business leaders and receive one-on-one coaching from student volunteers.

With roughly 20 participants per boot camp, 80 veterans and transitioning military personnel completed the program this summer.

Since POE’s inception in 2012, graduates have gone on to start over 200 businesses in ever sector, in communities all across Canada.
