Reception for PCC and The Prince’s Accounting for Sustainability CFO Leadership Network
September 12, 2017
The Hon. Judith Guichon, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, hosted a reception in Victoria last Thursday in honour of Prince’s Charities Canada (PCC) and The Prince’s Accounting for Sustainability CFO Leadership Network (A4S). The event provided participants an opportunity to meet CFO members of the A4S Canadian Chapter as well as learning about His Royal Highness’s wider charitable activities in British Columbia and across Canada.
Accounting for Sustainability (A4S) is a business network established by HRH to help drive a fundamental shift towards resilient business models and a sustainable economy. In November 2016, PCC launched the Canadian Chapter of the network, the first outside Europe.
Run in partnership with the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada), it provides a platform for Canadian CFOs to come together to focus on the key challenges faced by Canadian organizations in integrating sustainability into decision making.
Steve Roder, CFO at Manulife Financial and Co-chair of the A4S Canadian Chapter says, “The establishment of the Canadian Chapter of the CFO Leadership Network could not have come at a better time. In light of our government’s progressive environmental and social agenda, it is a unique opportunity for the Canadian CFOs to build on that momentum and drive change.”
This type of collaboration amongst business leaders is at the heart of HRH’s vision of a more sustainable future. The Canadian Chapter allows CFOs to address national challenges and work together to protect and enhance Canada’s abundant natural and social capital.
